WTE103FM CONTINUED - HAPPENING

The piece WTE103FM was a sum of the ideas surrounding Heckle, my preoccupation with liveness and a number of sound workshops and discussions led by David Toop. With its temporal one-hour broadcast the work took the form of a happening alongside referencing a previous radio happening of John Cage. Despite the liveness of the broadcast the content was constructed in a controlled formulaic fashion (talk segment – jingle - song) to mirror the form of commercial radio and a structured situation.

 

WTE103FM confirmed my progression into the live context and piqued my interest in the creation of events and their controllable/uncontrolled dynamics. The work was, however, only a preliminary study of this and was more of a starting point than an exploration.
